Psydecar is a reggae, soul, and groove band from San Diego, CA with a legacy spanning over 30 years. The band is re-emerging today through the collaboration since 2019 between band founder/frontman Tim Pacheco and vocalist/keyboardist Trevy James.  

At the core of this lineup is a rare dual-fronted dynamic: two seasoned songwriters and vocalists, each bringing their own distinct catalog, performing side by side in a fully live setting. Drawing from both Psydecar’s extensive body of work and Trevy James’ solo releases, the set moves between the musical languages of reggae, soul, lovers rock, and R&B.

Anchoring the band’s live presentation is the musicianship behind the vocals. Pacheco leads from the drum kit while singing, while James simultaneously handles keys and vocals, creating a performance built on feel, interplay, and real-time exploration of song arrangements with space for improvisation. Rounding out the combo is bassist Shrub Bravo and longtime lead guitarist Pelle.

Whether presented as an intimate trio or expanded into a full 6-piece band, Psydecar delivers a soulful, song and groove-forward experience that reflects decades of evolution while pushing into a fresh, modern expression of reggae and lovers rock.
